My friends are all excited about this and Carl's opening. Burger places just don't excite me unless they're serving fresh ground grass-fed beef with organic veggies and homemade sauces and buns. Needless to say, I make my own burgers.

I sure that makes the SMU people happy. In-N-Out should do well.

Great News. In N Out burger is the best fast food burger I have ever had. I hope they open one in the Plano/Frisco area. I think they will due to the growth in these cities. Thanks!

You can pretty much count on them expanding. Given that they have to have a provisioning center close enough to their locations, it wouldn't make sense to build a single store. We are up to 7 locations in northern Utah. As thrilled as I am about that (lived in SoCal twice and got addicted) I am every bit as enthralled with Smashburger. There is one in the same shopping mall area as the closest In And Out, and I find myself faced with a decision when I am in that part of town.

The Smashburger shop in Arlington TX is a teeny bopper hangout with obscenely loud music, obtrusive staff and marginal hamburgers.

So, its just a microcosm of Arlington?

Never been to that one, I can only attest for the Burleson location. And marginal isn't a word I would use.

I was just at the Smashburger (1st time) in Arlington. Granted it was about 1:00 on a Wed afternoon, but no teeny-boppers or loud music. It was insanely crowded so tables were a premium. One of the cashiers and someone else cleaned a table so I'd have one.

Hamburgers were ok. Probably wouldn't rush back, but would go if someone else wanted to. The lettuce, tomato, sliced pickle and whole slice of red onion were bright and fresh, but just not much flavor - including the burger patty. Kind of reminded me of Mooyah, but with a thinner patty (though advertised as 1/3 pound). The soft egg-bun was nice though.

The hay-stack (?) onions were tasty, though not onion-y. Very thin sliced onions dipped in batter = mostly fried batter.

                      Yeah baby!

Classic, no lettuce or ketchup, extra Smash sauce and cheese, add grilled onions, bacon and a fried egg. And yes, that is the sound of my arteries hardening, and they are happy about it!

In-N-Out Burger is coming to Fort Worth!
For those who don't know,There are only four food items on the In-N-Out menu: Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Double-Double and French Fries.
However there is a (not so) “Secret Menu” where you can find the Double Meat, the Grilled Cheese, the 3x3®, the Protein® Style, the 4x4® and the Animal® Style.
                  Just look for the crowd.

I read that in the Star Telegram this morning. Every couple years or so when I would eat a burger I would get an In-N-Out while living in CA. I think the last burger I probably ate was back in 2002, and it was at In-N-Out. OK, I guess I won't die of coronary disease if I eat one when the Fort Worth one opens next year. :)
