One Dinner.. Osteria Mozza, Lucques, Jar.... other ideas?

Going to be in LA at the end of the month. We will have our car and are willing to drive for great food!
We will have one night available for a special dinner, I have been looking at Osteria Mozza, Lucques, and Jar, and would appreciate everyones suggestions and rec.... Also, if there are other really fantastic places please let me know, I am not that up on the LA food scene!

Thanks for the quick responses! Here is a little more info, we are super open to any and all cuisines, however, we will have our very well behaved 3 1/2 year old daughter with us, so certain places may be a little too high end for this trip, and may need to be saved for a future visit. From the looks of the Providence website as well as the Bazaar, those may be out, but Animal and possibly Hatfields may be a little more lowkey?? Let me know what your thoughts are as it is hard to make a decison just by looking at a website as to whether it would be appropriate for our daughter, we will probably dine early which should help with this as well.

Animal would be fine with your daughter, as would the Mozza's (Osteria or Pizzeria).

We wanted to go yesterday (Sunday) to Animal on a short notice and called them at 4pm if they have any table for two. The first table available was at 9.45pm.

Animal would probably be the best place to bring a 3 1/2 year old, and I think Hatfield's (and Lucques) would also be okay if you went on the early side. I don't think I'd bring her to Providence or Bazaar. So I think your instincts are right on.

Of the three, I would choose Osteria Mozza - but if I had just one dinner in LA, I would make it Hatfield's, AOC, or Gjelina.

Based on your question, my wife and I would always pick Osteria Mozza. We think it's fantastic with wonderful food. Have a great meal

If I was doing one special dinner in L.A., I probably wouldn't choose any of the above. (I like Lucques and Jar, but they aren't my favorites...since I wasn't a fan of Pizzeria Mozza I've never been that interested in trying Osteria Mozza). Instead, I would go to Providence, the Bazaar, Hatfield's, or Animal for a special meal (in roughly decreasing order of expense). If you give us some more info on your preferences, we could probably provide you with better guidance.
