The serious food of Babbo, Scarpetta or ABC but the fun atmosphere of Yerba Buena

Planning a dinner for a client and want to send them somewhere for great serious food but also a place to really enjoy the atmosphere and environment. Yerba buena was a bit noisy but the cocktails, setting and crowd made it lots of fun. Food there was excellent. Clients are in their 40's and eat drink everything. A place to spend 2 hours eating drinking and soaking in the room.

For the serious food of Babbo in a fun setting I'd recommend.... Babbo.

But given that rezzies are impossible at Babbo, for some serious and fun food I'll side with WD-50. The cocktails are as good and creative as the food, too. Maybe not as boisterous as Yerba Buena, but far from stuffy.

You might consider the Modern Bar Room. It has an extensive menu, great cocktails and a fun room.

        How about DBGB?

I would hardly say ABC is lacking atmosphere. To me, it seems to tread that line fairly well, pretty serious food, maybe dressed down, but also a pretty lively scene. For clients in their 40s I would think its the right mix. DBGB and Yerba to me would be a little casual, in both the atmosphere and the food. Good drinks too.
