Cardamom and Tea???

Hi. When adding cardamom to a tea strainer is it better to use ground cardamom or the crushed pods? Thanks in advance.

  1. Usually, the lightly crushed pod is added to the water as it is boiling (along with whatever other spices you want, e.g. ginger, cinnamon, black peppercorns, etc.).

      this is a fun little site with some nice chai tips and recipes:

      1. I crush 2 cardamom pods & add to the teapot when I'm brewing; no need to boil. If the pods are old, you might need more pods. Fantastic!
