OK, in all honesty, if you actually think you're going to be able to eat after the Fair, or for some reason want to eat before (in either case, I don't understand), this recent thread may be helpful. La Verne is just north of the Fairgrounds.

I highly recommend Thai Orchid Garden. It's not fancy, it's in a little strip mall, but it is my absolute favorite Thai place. Must have items are the basil eggplant, pad thai (seriously, with a squeeze of lemon it is euphoric), green curry, mee grob, mango with sticky rice, fried banana with the lightest, most delicious coconut ice cream ever, and of course the Thai iced tea.

I'm not sure where you are coming from, but it's true that there's not a lot of exciting food in that area. However, you might find something that would work in this thread - http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/7058...
Note that not all of these places are necessarily close to the Fair and depending on day of the week/time of day you will probably need to account for traffic.
