What kind of food are you looking for? Is ambiance a big deal? Price?

AW's has always come through for us, and is our one, "must do" restaurants on O`ahu.

Actually, we have had better meals at the Roy's on the Mainland, and I realize that is heresy, but is how we have felt.

          Enjoy,

        Do you have a budget?

        Places to look into:

House Without a Key: great food, stunning view and an every evening simple hula performance.

Nobu's Waikiki: Arguably some of the best japanese you will find here

Roy's Waikiki: One of the originators of pacific fusion cuisine Roy's still delivers.

Hau Tree Lanai: Arguably the most stunning setting on all of Waikiki beach, at the base of diamond head. The food is excellent, the service friendly but slow.

Alan Wong's: Not in Waikiki, but not far away, probably the best Honolulu has to offer.

K-Man - you always come up with great suggestions! I'd suggest DK Steakhouse in the Marriott and savor one of his house dry aged steaks and a wonderful wine paired by the knowledgeable wine staff that would be my idea of a great meal, not a cheap one but a great one!

Ciao Mein in your hotel is nice-Italian-Chinese fusion. A short walk on Kuhio is my fave steakhouse-Hy's which they cook in front of your in glass cage over kiawe wood! Believe it or not the Cheesecake factory on Kalaukaua is also great w local dishes on menu-great for breakfast/lunch but portions a bit much for my taste. The food court in International market Place has some great local type selection and in the evening they have entertainment.
