October 12 - Spanish National Day

Hey there - i will be in Barcelona from October 9 - 13. How does the holiday Spanish National Day affect the city - does everything close down? Shops, restaurants, etc. I may have to adjust my plans accordingly so if anyone has insight please let me know!!\

Major stores will be closed. Restaurants which close on "Sundays and holidays" will also be closed. But this is a day in which people go out; it's not a religious holiday which revolves around a family meal at home. So, a lot of great places will be open.
