Berlin and Amsterdam dinners - what time

What time do people in Berlin and Amsterdam go out to dinner? I am making some reservations - is 9 pm about right? I don't need to be uber trendy, but I don't want to eat in an empty restaurant either.

I've always found Amsterdam is a city that eats early. 7pm is probably a more typical reservation time, though 8pm works well too. I think 9pm would be considered quite late.

9pm is on the late side in Amsterdam. Many restaurants close their kitchen around 10pm and some locals might get reservations as early as 7pm. I guess it also depends on the restaurant, but 8pm or 8:30pm might be safer.

I can't speak for Amsterdam, but 9 seems a bit late. Generally, 8 pm is a good time for a dinner rez.

Any thoughts on my Berlin rec?
