Road trip Portland to Eugene

We will be driving from Portland to Eugene and back in October. As major foodies and winos we want to have a great lunch each day and visit the best wineries. I have noticed many of the best places are not open for lunch. Are we better off getting terrific sandwiches in Portland and having a picnic one of the days? What are your suggestions? Also one dinner in Eugene, was considering Ambrosia and Beppe & Gianni's but welcome other less known places.

  1. I love Italian food. I would go with B&G in Eugene, OR. The atmosphere is outstanding. Sit outside if the weather permits. The 5th Street Public Market is very nice. There are numerous good places to eat lunch while you shop.

Get off I 5 at Albany, OR at Exit 233 and go to Calapooia Brewing Co. for lunch. Elmer's in Albany, OR is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cascade Grill at Exit 234A off I 5 in Albany, GA offers outstanding comfort food, fresh seafood and steaks in a casual atmosphere for lunch or dinner.

Get off I 5 at Salem, OR at Exit 253 and go to Ram Restaurant and Brewery for lunch. Or get off I 5 at Salem, OR at Exit 258 and go to Schroed's Guest House Restaurant for good country food in a casual family atmosphere.
