Thanksgiving dinner in Columbia County?

Any suggestions for a Thanksgiving dinner in Columbia County? We'll be staying in Hudson, NY.

You'll be about 25 miles from Kingston. Roudigan's Steakhouse offers their annual T'sgiving smorgasbord and it's pretty good. Well worth the trip. 9G south to Rhinecliff bridge. Then Route 199/209 into Kingston. Get off at the traffic circle and you'll see the sign. http://roudigans.com/

Welcome to our beautiful Hudson Valley!

I have no idea what will be open on Thanksgiving, but these are the places in Hudson or within a 25 minute drive that I would recommend calling to find out:

      Swoon
      Ca Mea
      Vico
      DaBa
      Carolina House (Kinderhook)
      Madalin's Table (Tivoli)
      Swiss Hutte (HIllsdale)

Just had dinner at Carolina House on Saturday, not only is the food great, but it would be the perfect setting for Thanksgiving. No idea if they're open though.

Oh well just checked and they are closed on all the big holidays. Not surprising, the staff seems very happy there. Maybe the day before or after? Thanksgiving day you usually have to find a hotel restaurant or ethnic, like Chinese, in my experience.

I have to strongly disagree re Carolina House. Nothing is freshly made. Does not IMHO belong on the same list as Swoon Kitchenbar, which is extraordinary. Ca Mea is a second runner up in Hudson.

NOTHING is freshly made? What does that even mean? We had steak, burgers, ribs, these were definitely cooked from scratch. The fish I don't know but it was prepared perfectly: But the cornbread and dirty rice that came with it sure didn't taste frozen. It's good home cooking, which fits the bill this time of year.

When did you last dine there, and what was not "freshly made"? I agree that Swoon is better but that doesn't mean Carolina House is not a worthy choice, and better value. Everything I've had there has been delicious, sometimes imaginative, and the setting is charming. I have had some fish dishes that rival what I would get at much more expensive places in Manhattan.
