best Italian restaurant in Vancouver?

We will be visiting Vancouver in November. Always have our favorite restaurants to enjoy dining, but would love to add a night of Italian or Mediterranean. Has anyone tried Lupo since it reopened? Any other recommendations?

Unless you are looking for something very upscale (and expensive), in which case I would vote for Cioppino, the clear choice right now is La Quercia. The food is very market driven, authentic and well executed. Plus, they make the best pasta in town.

I've been to La Quercia twice since they opened and wasn't blown away either visit. Perhaps it's time for another try...

My favourite is Lupo. Cioppino's is second.

Cioppino's and Lupa are pretty good. La Quercia
has been good in the past; havent eaten there recently.

I enjoyed Lupo recently. I'd give Cioppino's the nod as Vancouver's best Italian though. La Quercia would be awesome if there are 4 or more of you as you dine family style there.

For me, it's La Buca, Cioppino's and Lupo in that order for Ital/Med at the moment. There are threads on here dealing with all the restaurants mentioned so far if you want to read more.

Definately, Lupo has become my favourite Italian in the city. I also had a great meal at Cibo but Lupo edged them out...
