I don't have an opinion on Ben Benson's ( I liked the prime rib I had there a few years ago) but I think steak for two for 90.00 is probably the average price at most steakhouses, so it's not really a deal.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were talking about the steak dinner for two. I assumed when you said steak for two, you meant porterhouse for two.

Not cheapest deal, best value for a steakhouse.. I notice palm has a special, so does ben Bensons.

This is a standard steakhouse deal - Morton's does does app/salad/steaks/desserts for two for $99.00

Believe it or not, Benson's has an unbelievable Veal Parm. The best I've had at any restaurant, anywhere.

I haven't been there in years (moved out of NY) but I'd bet money it's as good as ever. My frequent dining companion when there was a regular (his name was on a gold plaque on the wall) and he ate it a couple times a week for some years.

This does and doesn't surprise me, wojiparu. Benson's has never had the buzz or cache that other NY steakhouses have. Always been big with the midtown expense accounters, but never beyond that.

Dinner for 2 for $90 was Fantastic! We had our choice of soup which I had the beef barley and my Wife had Spilt Pea, We both preferred the Spilt Pea. Than we had Amazing ceasar salads where you can taste the anchovies! Them we spilt a 26 oz chateaubriand which was great. We had so much left over we had chateaubriand and eggs, great Brunch!!! It was an amazing deal!
