Savin Scoop ... coming soon? (Savin Hill, Dorchester)

On my walk to the T this morning, I saw that that signs are up for "Savin Scoop", the new ice cream/coffee place that is supposed to open in the old Stylus hair salon space on the same block as McKenna's. I was on the other side of Savin Hill Avenue, so I couldn't read the signs in the window. But it looks like they are featuring "Bliss" ice cream. Anyone know anything about that?

Also... when I heard about this place, I was hopeful they would focus more on coffee (baristas, etc.) than ice cream. Nothing I would like better than a serious coffee stop on the way to the T. Does anyone have any intel about the coffee offerings?

  1. Hello from Savin Scoop.. Coffee's, Cappuccino, Espresso's, pastry's, and fruit, will be served along with other goodies. Along with healthy alternative smoothies. We are still in the beginning stages and equipment will start arriving tomorrow.
For our Ice cream, Bliss Brothers Dairy in Attleboro, MA will be making the ice cream for Savin Scoop, They also make Emack & Bolios, Newport Creamery, and other specialty ice creams.
Keep an eye on our window's as you walk to the T and watch the progress, also follow us on Facebook.

Thanks for the info! Sometimes all you have to do is ask. Do you have a vendor for pastries yet? If not, may I please suggest Canto6 bakery in Jamaica Plain? Their pastries are to die for and they are a great local business (only serving a different neighborhood). Where are you getting your coffee beans? Will they be local too?

Thank you for the pastry suggestion, I will look into them. Our coffee vendor is local, out of Brookline, we will carry a dark roast, light roast and a decaf. We will also offer flavorings for hot and iced coffee.

Sounds terrific. Very excited about this new addition to the neighborhood.
