Hey Hounds.

So should I make harrissa myself or buy some. If I do opt for purchase, where is my best bet??

  1. I like the effect of the one I buy (Le Phare du Cap Bon) and wouldnt consider making. It's readily available where I am in "ethnic" shops and , from time to time, supermarkets (although they more usually stock Belazu).

    1. I often made it myself before I had a kid, but now I go ahead and buy it. Every little minute saved counts, and I can't say I've noticed a huge difference in the quality of the things I make with it.

      1. My favorite is DEA in a tube so I can use as much or as little as I want. I would not be othered to make it and I make lots of stuff instead of buying it.

        1. I am in love with the bottled Harrisa sauce put out by "Robert Rothschild Farm", which I found in one of my local supermarkets. Is uber-spicy & has chunks of tomato in it. I find myself reaching for it for all sorts of seasoning applications. Latest was when I bathed half a batch of grilled chicken wings in half a bottle of it. FABULOUS!!
