Babes in the Woods...

  • 3

What's the scoop on Babes in the Woods? Anyone have any experience with their fine pork? I only hear good things. What markets do they sell at? I'm trying to do some porchetta in the coming weeks and I'd like a skin-on shoulder or butt (or skinless shoulder in conjunction with skin-on belly) in order to do this. Anyone know if they can accommodate? Thanks in advance...

  1. I ran into them at the Charlottesville farmer's market where they were grilling Italian sausages. I didn't buy any cuts but did buy a four pack of their spicy Italians. They were really, really good (lots of fennel, in case you don't like fennel).

I found this about them from eatwild.com:

    1. I encountered them exactly twice at the Clarendon market on Wednesdays a couple of years ago. I bought a couple of loin chops one of the times they were there and they were really good.

      1. The have drop off points every couple of weeks around the region. I pick my stuff up in Silver Spring MD when I order. Their pork is, by far, the best pork I have ever eaten.
