Where can I get organic chicken livers in Toronto?

I know they have them at Whole Foods, but when I went there, the livers were frozen in a big block and they said I'd have to return the next day. Does anyone know of another place to get organic chicken livers? I'm making either a mousse or pate.

i'd talk to peter at sanagan's. i know he's more geared towards all-natural than organic but having a conversation with him a week in advance will give you significantly better service and ample time for him to pull together an order than anything from healthy butcher. he's brought in some special cuts for me quite a few times and i've never seen anything frozen there.

I get my organic chicken livers from Hallelujah (Newmarket?) in one-pound packs -- they are frozen. Foods For Life in Bloor West Village orders them in for me, but any place that deals with Hallelujah should do it.

The Healthy Butcher usually has fresh chicken livers, from Field Gate Organics. I think they're probably 1/2-lb packages. If fresh liver isn't available, they also have these available frozen and they'd likely defrost very quickly.
