Between Manalapan and Philadelphia

We want to meet friends from Philly- Any suggestions on a place to meet halfway for dinner? Looking for good food

We ended up at Under the Moon in Bordentown and loved it. We had guacamole- the home made chips were great, then the baked brie- another treat
For main course, 3 of us split the short ribs, meatloaf and risotto- Talk about comfort food! Yum- and we had left overs
Of cousre, we had dessert-Tiramisu(the last piece) and banana cream pie.
Along with 2 bottles of wine- it was a great evening and we will be back!

Under The Moon = a great choice. As you mention, comfort food at its best. Your post is a reminder to get back to UTM soon. Its been a few months which is far too long :)

If you're meeting friends, why not consider Rats or the Lawrenceville Inn?

If you are considering Italian, I would recommend Coltello in Crosswicks, NJ (see mine and other reviews in another post about the restaurant). I pick this restaurant because the food was fantastic, reasonably priced, it is BYOB, and located almost smack dab in the middle of Philly and Manalapan. While the space is intimate and nice, it can be noisy on weekends, so that is another thing to consider.....

Agree that Blackbird is awesome, one of our favorite in NJ. Problem is its 4 miles from Philly and 53 miles from Manalapan. Bit of a difference for those folks from Monmouth County but I still like the choice :)

Bordentown NJ is about the halfway point. Lots of restaurant options in town. A bit more upscale than the others is Oliver A Bistro which is very good.

A frequest poster here, njfoodies lives in Bordentown and can give you some specific reports on the different restaurants. Hopefully, he will chime in.
