Looking for a Korean BBQ place

Anyone know of a good Korean BBQ place here?

  1. I assume you're looking for a restaurant where you grill your own food. The only place that I know used to do this was Kumgangsan (now Korean Garden Restaurant) on Snelling north of University in St. Paul. They had electric grills that fit into tables. I haven't eaten there in a few years so I don't know if they still do it. I found their food to be in the middle of the road, but the wait staff was always very nice there.

I don't think there are any places in the area that do charcoal grilling (probably because of the short season for it).

    1. I've read really good things about Sole Cafe (682 Snelling-Midway area) ... Looking forward to checking it out myself soon.

      1. King's Korean Restaurant in Fridley is one of my favorites, and Korean BBQ is their specialty. Their bulgogi and galbi is amazing. The bulgogi portions are easily large enough to share.

kings is probably the best around, but to be fair, it is nowhere close to what you would find in ny, chicago, la or houston.

        2. I had the Kalbi (beef short rib) at Dong Yang, and it was excellent. It'll run you $14, but feeds two pretty easily. I found it more flavorful than the stuff I had at Kings, and the accoutrement were far superior.
