Late lunch - Beaches area next Sunday

I am planning a walk/hike with a few friends next Sunday from the Boardwalk to the Queen St E (Beaches area). We will be walking for a few hours and will be hungry by the end of the walk.

Can you recommend a casual place that serves great food for a late lunch at reo? We will be having lunch around 1 or 2 pm. It will be a group of less than 5 people.

  1. Depending on how far east you want to go, Vivetha Bistro is casual and always reliable for a good lunch or breakfast. But it's at the far east end of the Beach. Small busy place, may require a wait at the door.

On the west end of the Beach at Coxwell and Eastern, there's Le Papillon on the Park. Nice rooftop patio, good food and relaxed atmosphere. Big place that has not hit its stride yet (unless things have changed), so likely no wait. Great service.

    1. There's also the Green Eggplant on the north side of Queen near Kenilworth, right in the heart of the Beach.

For Japanese, you can't beat Yumei Sushi (north side just past Wineva), and Thai House (south side east of Leuty) and Green Basil (north side east of Hammersmith) are good Thai places.

I can't disagree with Vi Vetha - food is great, but really far to the east - almost to Victoria Park (the Waterworks would be your landmark closest to Vi Vetha).

      1. If you started at the eastern end of the Beach/Vic Park and walked west on the Boardwalk you'd end up at Le Papillon's new spot. Nice patio on the park if the weather's nice.
