Bagels in PDX

dnehsia Sep 12, 2010 02:10 PM

Grew up in NY but recently moved here from SF bay area looking for great bagels. For those who are familiar, loved the bagels at House of Bagel in SF and Ess-a-bagel and Kossar in NYC. Not a fan of Noah's. Anything close to either of those in PDX or do I have to make the plunge and overnight bialys from Kossar once a month? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Kenny & Zuke's and Kettleman are the only two I'd consider eating.

I think Tastebud's wood-fired bagels are a step up from Kettleman's. So that's a third. By the way, a little off-topic, but The Village Baker in Bend has very good bagels if you're ever out that way.

      Note: I am Zuke.

Agreed. How could I forget. Tastebud's are chewy and dense. The way they should be.
Safeway. That's just gross. Lucky you can hide your face behind the Interwebs! : )

I know I will be called a blasphemer for this but I like the bagels from the Safeway bakery.

I will now go hide my face in shame.
