  1. Not directly *on* Anna Maria, but right over the bridge to Cortez is Tyler's. Homemade ice cream, lots of flavors, really nice owners. We go there during the day for a beach break. We also enjoy the place that used to be Mamma Lo's...I think it's called Scoops now. Not so much that the ice cream is the best, but they have lots of flavors, the portions are big, and the location is great...you can get your ice cream and then walk out on the City Pier to enjoy it. Aaah....AMI...

    1. Not ON the island, but for at least the last 25 years, it's a requirement to stop at the Shake Pit on 64 on the way home after the beach.

      Shakes and malts you could stand on and great ice cream, too.

        Sweet Berries on Manatee Ave. A real good homemade frozen custard/lunch shop.
