Are there any good neighbourhood places around there for breakfast and dinner. Staying at an apt so would also like to know of bodega close by?

Totally avoid the area around Macy's...34th and 6th/7th because of the parade.
    The entire neighborhood is shutdown.
Best would be to head up to Hells Kitchen area

Check-out Menupages to get an idea what is available for breakfast.

What kind of neighborhood places are you looking for? Diners? Be specific about type of cuisine, price, and how big a radius you want information about. There is a diner on 34th St. near 9th Av. that is decent.

You will be pretty close to Koreatown, so do a search on this board for previous threads discussing Koreatown options. Madangsui (preferably for galbi/bulgogi) and Don's Bogam are my favorite Korean barbecue places.

I also agree with pbjluver on Hell's Kitchen: Just walk up 9th Av. to the 40s and 50s. Do a search on Hell's Kitchen, 9th Av., and pre-theater for relevant threads. Lately, I've been really liking Gazala Place, a little Druse Israeli restaurant on 9th between 48th and 49th:

          Don's Bogam
