Old Bay Seasoning

Picked some up last time I was in the States. I just ran out and am not planning a trip across the boarder for a while. I'm dying to make crabcakes. Anyone know if I can somehow buy Old Bay in Toronto? I'll travel a bit for it. If not, anyone know a good substitute for it?

Hey everyone. Thanks for the input. I thought I'd have to shlep my big fat butt to Buffalo to get some but I took a drive today to the Longo's at Woodbine and Hwy 7 and sure enough, they had them.

I want to thank everyone who helped. I appreciate it and more importantly, my husband appreciates the fact that I can now make his fave crabcakes and he can get his omegas. He hates fish but loves my cakes made with the crab flavoured pollock.

Once again, Chowhounders prove they know more than anyone about almost anything.

Try The Summerhhill Market (Rosedale) for Old Bay and fabulous food - the chicken pot pie is dinner-party worthy.

I've seen it at a number of Sobey's around town, but not at Metro or Loblaws.

All the seafood places in St.Lawrence carry it. usually at the checkout.

I've seen them from Highland Farms to Mike's Seafood in the St. Lawrence Market. It's pretty common now.

that link is a year old, a lot can change in a year, stores close or discontinue carrying products etc.

2nd this.... the owner was extremely helpful when i was in there buying pickling spices last week

You can get it at SLM in that basement shop that sells all the different spices and packaged stuff, I forget the name of the place but you can't miss it.
