Looking for Black Sesame or Goma Ice Cream

Zagazoo Sep 10, 2010 05:26 PM

I'm trying to find a tub of high quality Black Sesame Ice Cream (also known as Goma ice cream) for romantic purposes and haven't been able to find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can get it either online or in the Minneapolis/St Paul area (or even in Minnesota for that matter)? It's pretty important that I procure some.

I haven't found it in an Asian grocery store already made - mostly see Green Tea and Red Bean / Azuki ice creams. I did make a wonderful black sesame ice cream using black sesame power I purchased at United Noodle - used an ice cream maker and it turned out wonderfully. Good luck.

When I made it, I roasted the black sesame, grind it, then use it in the ice cream (infuse with the liquid over night, then add more while churning). It turned out great, and if I dare to say better than the one I'd bought!

Have you tried asian grocery store?

If you have an icecream machine, you can make your own too! I tried it and it was really good.
