La Tavernetta Closed?

GlendaleGal Sep 10, 2010 02:44 PM

Passing by La Tavernetta it looks barren & phone is no longer in service. Our go to place for take-out when it was on 88th St, never really seemed the same once it moved to Metropolitan Ave. Still I'll miss those chicken sandwiches with shallot vinaigrette.

      Janie,
Have not been to Michaels's new restaurant, Naple, but haven't heard good things or seen any great reviews. However if that chicken sandwich showed up on the menu it might tempt me to try the place!

a friend of mine went to Naple a few months ago, and had horrendous service--food was nothing special, either--and pricey for what it was. She even gave it another try thinking maybe it was just a fluke, and service was better but food not so. Too bad

I am an old Tavernetta customer and tried Naples on Sunday night. Overpriced, although entrees are discounted at 20% off. We just had a margherita pizza to test the joint and although made with top-flight ingredients, it was certainly not worth the relatively long drive from Forest Hills. I hate to say this but I don't think I would go back. Sad.
