Breakfast in Chicago...near the James hotel.

  • 1

I loved the thread about b-fast in Chi-Town but are any of them close to the James Hotel?

I have a wedding this weekend and while my girlfriend does wedding related fun stuff I want to sneak out in the morning and grab some breakfast. I'm not going to have a car...cabbing somewhere would be fine but if there's a great place in walking distance I'm all for it.

Thank you in advance.

The question there was asked about the Trump Hotel, but the James is just a few blocks north of the Trump, so the answer will be the same.

The restaurant in the James is David Burke's Primehouse, which many consider the best steakhouse in the city. It's a great place for lunch (cheap, great burgers) and dinner. They also serve breakfast; I've never been there for breakfast but the menu sounds good. www.davidburkesprimehouse.com

Here are distances from the James for some other places mentioned in that topic. Fox & Obel is three blocks south and four blocks east. Eggsperience is two blocks south and four blocks east. Orange is three blocks north and four blocks west. XOCO is three blocks south and four blocks west. Sable is two blocks west and three blocks south. See the links in that topic for the restaurant websites and menus.
