Seafood Market Arlington
I am moving to Arlington from California and looking for good place to buy seafood. I have never liked Whole Foods because IMHO their freshness is never that great. I am pretty picky about quality and like my fish to be absolutely fresh with no odor at all.
Is there a purveyor around Arlington or greater DC area that has absolutely top quality fish/shellfish? Is there one that sells at a farmer's market (I have one locally here that is excellent)? I don't mind paying more for quality.

I managed a seafood market for five years back in the day. I avoid Slavin and Sons like the plague. I also find whole foods lacking. Funny, I was in this (clarendon WF) weekend and they were selling whole flounder on special, but it was actually fluke a totally different fish.
Maybe the best place for seafood in VA is Super H Mart in Fairfax. This is a large, very large, clean Korean mega store. They have an excellent fish counter. It is mostly whole fish, but for no cost they will cut it however you want it.
Wegman's has a better than average fish counter also. There is one in Fairfax, one in Dulles and a couple others.
I hear Blacksalt is very good, but I have not been myself and cannot recommend it yet.
Good luck. FYI, these coincidentally are more than likely listed in price point from cheapest to most expensive as well.
Oh yeah. On the Main Ave seafood market (Captain Whites). I have been there a couple times. It is where I go for blue crabs. The selection is large. One can pick out their crabs and then have them cook them for them. It is great for that. All you have to do is show up to the party and dump out the steamy hot crabs and everyone cheers. ;)
