Casual dinner(good food) on Canada Line?

Meeting up with friends Sat night, need suggestions.
They are coming in from Richmond, we are in New West. They aren't very adventures, but I would
like to have some good food, but don't want to suggest someplace too expensive($20 range would be good). There last pick was Steamworks in Gastown(not bad but not good). I want to go to Salt but I know they won't appreciate it.
Any ideas?

Try the Alibi Room in Gastown. Extensive craft beer list and decent, eclectic pub food. Have a look at their online menu to see if it fits the bill.

      How about Stella's on Cambie?

I had thought of that...it is about a 10 min walk uphill. Good option that fits that budget....especially for lovers of Belgian beer.

Or downhill from King Edward Station ;-)

How about La Brasserie? Get off at Yaletown station and walk up Davie st. Or Pourhouse in Gastown?

Just a note that La Brasserie might be busy on Saturday with Davie Days.

Good recs. Another potential rec is Commune Cafe. I've been for lunch a couple of times and it was good - a cut above the typical Yaletown options.

Thanks for the suggestions, the plans are for the Blue Canoe in Steveston. Been there awhile back, was pretty good. The most important thing is getting together with good friends. Have been so busy this year, haven't seen many friends, actually this is the first weekend at home since April. Been sailing every weekend on our boat. Going to keep Stella's for another weekend with hubby.
