Tasty Chinese is your best bet for Chinese take-out/delivery.

Piazzetta Trattoria (where Sette Mezzo used to be) has great wood-oven pizza and decent pasta. (This is a second location of this restaurant; the other is on Yonge.)

I second Sado Sushi for innovative (i.e., not authentic, yet delicious) specialties. And they now deliver.

Petit Thuet for French patisserie (croissants, pain au chocolate)

House of Chan for steak ($$$)

      Frida for upscale Mexican.

      Jerusalem for Jewish/middle Eastern

      Seven Numbers for Italian.

Avoid: China House (fab retro decor, clueless new owners)

        Add to this list,
        Flour for cupcakes
The Coffee Roastery for coffee (imagine that)
        and remember Frida's does brunch

        King Falafel!

I have been going there since i was 11.

Best when fresh (same goes for the Schwarma, especially the Schwarma).

Sado Sushi (closer to the allen) is good, but save up and get the chef specialties rather than just the normal boring rolls, you will have a much better experience.

The big bite burgers place isn't great but it'll do.
