One night great dinner in Vancouver?

East coast Chowhounds looking for a recommendation for one great dinner in Vancouver (there will be 9 of us), celebrating a 40th b'day. Would love your suggestions!

A few of my fav special occasion restaurants are Bishop's, Lumiere, Le Crocodile and Cioppino's. You cannot go wrong with those!

I'm a big fan of round tables for larger groups so you might consider a higher end Cantonese restaurant. Or check with Cioppino's as rec'd by waylman -- they have some largish round tables that we've sat at IIRC though maybe not large enough.

It'd be easier to make recommendations if you list some criteria, Vancouver is a city of restaurants of all shapes, sizes and flavours. Some basic criteria would be:

- location
- price range
- cuisine preferences (or alternatively "don't want" cuisines)
- ambiance, view, music, etc.
