Choco-banana hunt

james33 Sep 9, 2010 04:09 PM

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any stands/restaurants/shops in Chicago that sell authentic choco-bananas? They are frozen bananas on a stick dipped in chocolate and sometimes coated in peanuts. Very popular street food in Central America.

Trader Joe's sells them. I've seen them in the freezer section of the store on Lincoln.

The Diana's brand is also sold at Whole Foods sometimes. I didn't like the Trader Joe's version. I ate part of one and returned the rest of the box. But Diana's Bananas are delicious!
