Just wanted to give a heads up to Chris and Samin's (formerly of Eccolo) market here in the East Bay. Here's where you can find the info:

I've been to several now. I've been most pleased with the availability of high-quality, small-batch local meats. Specifically: Devil's Gulch rabbit, Becker Lane pork, Bill Niman Ranch beef, and Soul Food chickens (though SF chickens are easier to find elsewhere than the others). The Becker Lane pork is particularly special - truly, some of the most flavorful pork I've ever had. I was also quite impressed by the price:flavor of Katz's olive oil. For me, the prepared foods haven't been worth the price - feels like I've had better versions elsewhere - though I haven't tried all of them.
I definitely recommend ordering ahead as it makes the pick-up process so much easier - you just go to a window instead of wading through the crowds and in multiple lines. That said, many of the best items will sell out early so it's best to put in your order as soon as you get the email notice.
