i would suggest going to the brick yard as well..there are about 10 screens in a nice environment..here is the website: www.brickyardsf.com
to get there, simply walk to stockton & sutter from your hotel and take the 45 bus to union & gough which puts you half a block from brick yard..enjoy!!

Public House is easily accessible by MUNI. Just go down to Powell Street station on Market and take one of the inbound trains to Mission Bay/Caltrain. Or take one of the buses on 4th Street toward AT&T Park. Or you could walk. It's not that far. Lots of TVs, good food, great beer. Pete's Tavern across the street from PH is pretty good too, though not as good as Public House. What sports are you going to be watching?

Two not all that far away are Steffs on 2nd street (only open weekdays I think) and The Chieftain at the corner of 5th and Howard. Stay away from Jillians North of Market there is Lefty O'Douls but I'm not sure how much of a sports bar that is these days.

No, the ultimate sports bar is Kezars on Stanyan

IMO, no. The Union Square Sports Bar is down the block but I don't like the place. My memory is of few TVs, overpriced beer, surly staff, and bad food.

The one good "sports bar" in SF was the Bayside in the Marina, but Yelp indicates it closed and was replaced by a joint called the Brick Yard. No idea whether the new owners kept the same number of big screen TVs in there for watching games.
