Private Dinner

I have to organize a very fancy dinner for 12 people in a private place and I would love to have some tips from you.

Questions:

- Best places for rental supplies;

- I need some names of famous and good chefs in Los Angeles (contemporary food)

Problem: we cannot have someone cooking in the space that the dinner is gonna be served.

Is there any possibility of hiring a chef who could bring his own supplies and maybe a truck where he could make the dinner?

Most "famous" chefs are available for private dining. Not sure if they can accomodate your challenges - but you can always ask what they can do.

Along Came Mary may well be the best "caterer" in town, but if you're looking for a world class chef, inquire at any of the better restaurants - Josiah Citrin from Melisse, Alain Giraud, etc.

Agreed on Citrin, Giraud, but do they cater? If they do, wow.

I've been to an even that Citrin catered. And I would bet that Giraud would do it. Not sure about the truck part (sounds more like a Top Chef challenge).

Along Came Mary (www.alongcamemary.com). Ask for Janine Micucci. Owner, Mary Micucci is the "epicurean Spielberg." She'll do something incredible. Impeccable service. Build a kitchen anywhere, no problem. Feed 10 with delicious, sexy food and grace or wow AAA celebs at a party for 6000. Done.
