Coffee and Pastries by Park Plaza Westminster Bridge

I'll be staying at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge and was wondering what is the best local place to have a pastry and a coffee each morning. It would be great if there's one in walking distance, but I'm definitely looking for one that's decently close.

I'll be making a trip to Maison Bertaux to try some of theirs, but I feel it's far enough so that I won't make a daily trip each morning.

also Konditor and Cook just along from the station have great pastries and cakes - only downside is there is no seating but you can take away and sit by the river.

I work around there and have investigated so many places. If you do not mind a not very scenic walk I would walk down to Westminster Bridge Road and on the corner there is a cafe called Wild Herbs and the pastries are all amazing. You can also cross over the road to Lower Marsh and there is a little retro cafe called Scooter Works where the coffee is fantastic and the pastries are made by the guy who runs Wild Herbs and you can sit inside. Good luck!

have you tried the ragged canteen on newport street for lunch. 'tis very good and very affordable. simple veggie food ( a really good minestrone-style vegetable soup and a cheese n onion toasted sandwich with excellent chutney on the side, plus salad), coffee from monmouth and great cakes (i had a brownie)

they only open at 11am so will probably be no use to madtheswine.
