Alexa Produce?

Has anyone been here? I'm a fan on facebook and am constantly getting updates with (seemingly) awesome deals. is it a case of "ya get what you pay for" or are these really pretty good produce deals?

I do go there -- but it's always a surprise -- sometimes it's great, but I often come out empty handed because the stuff is less than fresh. Go there with an eye to seeing what they've got rather than looking for something specific. Great prices!

Went there today and it was awful. I believe the sign or at least the one on their truck states, "Farmers Market." Alexa is definitely not the type of Farmers Market that I encountered in Hawaii or California. Some of their produce looked like Publix rejects. So sad. I just moved here and for the life of me I can't understand why true Farmers Markets are so sparse in Broward. I hate these folks that advertise under FMs and are just picking their stuff up from a distributor. I'm going to try Pompano and Hollywood when it gets cooler.

There is also now a farmers market at Riverwalk in Fort Lauderdale, 8AM-1PM on Saturdays. Right now there are two vendors, one organic, selling nice quality produce and they will be carrying their own locally grown as soon as it is the season.

i dont understand it either!! it seems like there should be some good ones around here with the type of climate in south florida. Marando farms is the best thing ive found so far. give it a shot to hold you over till the cooler weather comes

I just saw it today. I'm going to check it out tomorrow. It looks pretty good from the road. Just want to talk to them and find out if they are using the same distributor as Publix or whether they deal with the farmers.

Please report back:-)...We are also loving Marando Farms, but wish they were open during the week too. They are only open on Saturdays and Sundays.
