Beard Papa? [moved from L.A. board]
Does anyone know if Beard Papa has opened at the Hollywood & Highland complex yet? If so, are there long lines?
Beard Papa is a Japanese Cream Puff store that has hit it big in NYC. I know it's a strange name...
Thanks in advance!

Love Beard Papa.. wish it was in a less touristy area of town. (like downtown maybe??) We go there when we are near Hollywood & Highland for movies or the LA FIlm Fest last month. Also got to try Famina which opened recently. Unitl they get one downtown LA I guess Hollywood & Highland it is! =)
Good stuff! The regular is still my favorite though!

i think their cream puff is overrated. the filling is too runny, so it does NOT travel well, as it gets the "puff" real soggy real soon...
nice idea, though.

re: LT from LF
I absolutely agree about it having to be consumed immediately for best experience. but if you're even thinking about taking it home to share with a loved one, don't bother. it will just be a soggy, sloppy mess, and they will think you are an idiot for bringing it home.
even if it was to be consumed immediately, i think the custard filling of the beard papa cream puff is way too runny and still overrated.

re: ChowFun_derek
I am wondering how far folks are 'traveling' with it. It can be consumed within 24hrs but needs to be kept refridgerated if not eaten immediately. We pick it up at the Hollywood & Highland location and have a couple for dinner and the other two for breakfast the next morning. They were fine & not at all soggy. Not sure where folks who are having trouble with the freshness might be wanting to go with them. =)
I only wish there were a closer location than the Hollywood one.. but then all good things are worth the wait or trouble I think. Besides I'd be a chubbier me, than I am currently, if I lived next door to one. =P
