My son fell in love with this when in Los Angeles. Do we sell anything like in the picture, here in Vancouver? Thanks.

I believe dollar grocery on commercial has mix for horchata.

I've never seen the premixed, in-your-dairy-case option here, but deffo the mix. If you're over on the west side, Fresh is Best on Broadway near Bayswater has it. No idea if it is tasty though.

Close to you CK - El Sureno on Commercial and Sabor Latino on Nanaimo and William have it It's decent enough. It isn't difficult to make the real stuff actually. Google the recipe and you'll see what I mean. Rice, sugar, cinnamon or some other flavouring. And water. I bet regular rice milk (like Riz) and cinammon will work in a pinch too.

Thanks all! El Sureno it is. He'll be so surprised! He took this picture to show me what he wanted and I said I've never seen it, so he forgot about it. I just remembered to ask here as I was looking at that "Chronic Tacos" menu today (expensive) and I saw Horchata on it...I could make it, but grinding rice, letting it sit for 12 hours, blanching & roasting almonds - blah...I'd rather just buy it! :-)

I just realized I wasn't precise in my post. I was referring to the powdered stuff grayelf was noting....you will see the powdered kind there for sure, but not the ones in the cartons.

Oh darn, I want the carton stuff, but he just got home and said he'll try the powdered stuff so we'll take a wander down Commercial this weekend.

I get the instant mix fairly regularly. It's not bad at all. I had some just last week. Use lots of ice!
