Grilling 101: Tips, recipes, ideas?

Receiving our first charcoal grill in about a week! I think our first experiment will be burgers, but I'd like to use this piece of equipment often. We like all kinds of food, and I'm planning on trying the usual suspects (burgers, steaks) along with pizzas, carne asada, kalbi, shishkebabs, and anything else I can come up with. But if you have any pieces of advice you would have appreciated as a grilling beginner, or some favorite recipes, please share! Thanks hounds!

  1. The BBQ Bible and Planet BBQ both by Steven Raichlen are really good for everything you are looking for. I received the BBQ Bible as a gift about a year ago and have grilled my way through it. The book is really good because it has detailed techniques and illustrations geared to the home BBQer with little experience but still has recipes that are challenging for the expert. As the names suggest they do everything from around the world from Southern BBQ to Thai, Japanese, Afghan, Iranian, African...
