Looking for good carbo loading dinner in Napa - American Canyon area

jersey girl Sep 6, 2010 10:43 PM

I will be traveling with my daughter's high school athletic team to a tournament in Napa Valley in early October. We will be taking the team for a casual, carbo-loading dinner the first night of the tournament. Any recommendations from chowhound folks for a place that could accommodate about 12-15 girls for a casual pasta dinner or similar would be appreciated! The tournament is at a local high school in Napa, and we will be staying at a hotel in American Canyon, so something anywhere nearby or between the two would be perfect.

Fillipi's pizza near oxbow market in napa is the ticket. Great value Italian/american. Plus you can browse the oxbow market after and have ice cream at 3 twins!

La Strada in American Canyon seems to be popular. I've never been to that location (there are two), but it may fit your bill.

Thanks, Imnopm! If we stick closer to the hotel this could work too. I don't want to be too pricey, yet don't want an inedible but cheap dinner either. Somewhere in between!

Check out Villa Romano restaurant. It's address is Napa , but it"s very close to American Canyon, closer to AC than to downtown Napa. It's reasonably casual, and I think the food is very good - pastas, etc. I have only been there for lunch, so i don't know what the eveneing crowd is like. I looked for a website, but didn't find one. There are Yelp and other reviews if you google it. I would definitely take a bunch of teenagers there.

Parry's Pizza in American Canyon. Good stromboli and calzone. However, owner is kind of grumpy.
