Looking for great restaurants in the Lehigh Valley

I'll be in the Lehigh Valley for a few weeks. I've already checked out Apollo Grill, Edge, Starfish, 1741 at Hotel Bethlehem, and The Farm House...seeking recommendations for superior restaurants in the area.

Thanks!

    All good recommendations -

Grille 3501 and Cosmopolitan in Allentown, and Ocean and Sette Luna in Easton, are also excellent. Service and food quality at Shula's is also superior (though it's not "local" like your other faves) - it's at the Promenade Shops in Center Valley.

I agree with cwdonald about Bolete being at the top. In addition to your other choices, Savory Grille, Glasbern Inn, both also farm to table. River Grille in Easton, Grille 3501, Ocean, Sette Luna for wood fired pizza. I could easily go on if you need ethnic recommendations (thai, greek, brewpub, gastropub, asian, portuguese)

What about Chinese and Thai around Bethlehem and Easton? Thanks in advance.

I 100% agree with Bolete in Bethlehem and Ocean in Easton. The best two restaurants in the area. As far as Chinese, check out Asia on Susquehanna St in Allentown (just down the road a bit from Bolete). It's excellent, but closed on Sundays. As far as Thai, I would recommend Thai Thai II in downtown Bethlehem.

I agree with ina4ever about Thai Thai II in Bethlehem but you can also consider the Cafe in Bethelehem or SoGo in Easton. I have heard only good things about Asia but I have not been there. Planning to try it but my family is stuck on Hunan Springs for their Chinese fix.

I've been on the fence for a while with The Cafe in Bethlehem. It's good at times and bad on others. It's like a crapshoot. SoGo is an excellent destination for Japanese cuisine, but I think their Thai menu is a tad weak. I can't blame folprivate's family for sticking with Hunan Springs. That place is wonderful!

Asia in Allentown is the closest to authentic Cantonese - they're good. If you don't mind traveling to Allentown, then try Liu's Asian House - it's Chinese/Thai/Japanese - very good. In Bethlehem, I usually head over to Eastern Palace, off Nazareth Tnpke - they are the only place in the Lehigh Valley that has authentic dim sum - kind of like Chinese tapas - but dim sum is only until abt 2/3pm. Thai Thai II is not bad at all in Bethlehem - it offers more unique Thai dishes than your normal penang curry and spring rolls (they have those too).

Well you have missed one of the best... Bolete. Focus is on seasonal fresh ingredients. Definitely a do not miss.
