40th Birthday Party-Providence
Looking for somewhere to host a surprise 40th birthday party for my husband in February. Expecting between 40-50 people and will most likely opt for heavy hors d'ouevres rather than a formal sit down dinner. Private room. Any suggestions? TIA

What's your budget? Which type of food?
It's going to be tough to find a private room that large, on a Saturday night, if you're not doing dinner. You might want to check with hotels in the area.

I think the Waterman Grill (East Side of Providence, near Henderson Bridge) could probably accomodate you. Not too long ago, I inquired about having an event there (the event ended up being cancelled) for about fifty people, doing drinks and apps and they were very helpful. I believe they said they have three different rooms which can be used for the occasion. You may want to give them a call.
