Looking for a romantic beach dinner in Cancun

Hi all,

I'm heading to Cancun for the first time next saturday (Sept 11th) and my boyfriends birthday happens to fall on a day we're going to be in Cancun. I want to suprise him and take him to a romantic dinner on the beach but am having trouble finding anything of the sort. Any suggestions?

Most places in the Cancun hotel zone are set back pretty far from the water's edge and are oriented around large pools and bar areas on the beach. I recommend checking out a few restos on the Nichupte lagoon side, where you are closer to water, it is quieter, and you will have a view of the setting sun around the dinner hour. Maybe Lorito Joe's, Crab House, or Lorenzillo's. September is still quite warm and you will want to be in an air conditioned space for a romantic dinner.
If your boyfriend's birthday is on the 16th (mine is), things will be a little rowdy because that is Mexican Independence Day.

I thought Le Blanc to be one of the most beautiful hotels on the strip with gorgeous restaurants. Not on the beach per se but very close to it! Also we ate at the Grill at the Hyatt and had a very good meal, it's pretty close to the beach.
