Moderate priced Traditional French in the 12 e

My husband and I will be in Paris early October and will be staying in the 12e near Bercy village.

Have you recommendations for moderate priced places (not haute or high end) preferable serving traditional french food?

We will have a metro pass so are also willing to go into other areas . Hopefully all the strikes will be settled by then.:-)

  1. There is a terrific place, reasonable, run by folks who used to be at the Repaire de Cartouche a few blocks from the Bercy village:
    Cartouche Café
4, rue de Bercy, 12th (Metro: Cour St Emilion)
    Closed Saturday noon and Sundays
    A la carte about 30 €
There are photos at John Talbott's Paris.

The Cour St Emilion is not great for food despite a dozen chain restaurants, but the automated #14 metro line is so speedy you'll be at the Gare de Lyon or Chatelet or Madeleine in no time - I love it.

Yes -- at JT's suggestion we went to Cartouche Café a few months ago and enjoyed it. -- Jake

I had no idea it was close to Bercy Villages. I love to go there for a movie (excellent theater, one of the only ones in Paris with decent focus and color setting) but always found the food choices terrible. Will try next time I hire a babysitter (and therefore go to a movie).

Yah, it's klicks away from the mothership. Strange, but the nice front-room guy and nice chefesse are there from the RdeC. Agree on the theater, great, and lack of food.

      2. Although this may be outside the 12th, my wife and I enjoy having lunch at le Petite Bofinger on Avenue de Paris across from the Chateau de Vincennes. Can't recall what lunch cost last time we were there, but it wasn't alot. Service was very good.
