3 weeks in India: restaurant recommendations

Greetings! I've been searching the boards for over a year now but have just joined the official ranks. My wife and I are traveling around the world for 1 year and find ourselves in India within the next week. I've found many recs for Mumbai and Delhi but none for Kolkata.

Any suggestions?

We will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary in Kolkata so we'd like at least 1 semi-nice restaurant. Other than that, we are widely open to suggestions. We are typically accustomed to street food but not sure which route to take while in India as it's our first time.

Thanks for passing this on Jen. We're in Kolkata now staying at an amazing place, Bodhi Tree (http://bodhitree-cal.spaces.live.com/).

We are here for 3 days and plan to try: Kewpies, Bhoja Hari Mano, Nizam's and at least one fancier restaurant for our 1 year anniversary but still haven't tracked one down. I imagine we'll end up at an upscale hotel somewhere for dinner although it would be great to find an independent restaurant.

Will report back on how it goes.
