A thumbs up for Trader Joe's in Chelsea

I have never been a fan of Trader Joe's and avoid the one in Union Square like the plague, it is horribly overcrowded and I never thought the food was worth the hassle. But I work out near the Chelsea one and I am hooked. The produce is fresh, it has not been insanely packed, and it is clearly less expensive than Whole Foods. It is hard for me to believe that this is the same store! Don't know why it is so much better, but it is.

  1. I agree! I was there last night, and the line was curving around to the back for the first time since Ive been there (almost daily since it opened) - and it moves so much faster! Unfortunately I was stuck for the longest time next to the boxes of Tarte Tatin, but restrained myself.

      I totally agree!
The 14th St. store is terrible...way too crowded and dingy.
The new Chelsea store is larger, cleaner, well stocked and you do not have to wait 40 min. to check-out.
I am anxiously awaiting the new store on W. 72nd St. to open later this month.

Heaven compared to Union Square. I've also been to the one on Court Street in Brooklyn which is loads better than Union Square. Thank goodness there are more locations now.
