    What part of LA?
Look for Tender Greens -which seem to be "sprouting up" everywhere :)

Are you nuts ipse? The irresistible Pão de queijo will negate all that hard work!

Tender Greens is good, Greenleaf Chop Shop (Bev Hills, Century City) also caters all of the to-go options at my gym and is delicious to boot. I think the difference is we don't have specific eateries catering to gym rats and muscle men. But pretty much any somewhat healthy eatery you walk into will have a protein + veggies option.

You might like The Veggie Grill for the more fast food type option - it's all vegetarian but the food would fool any meat lover.

Mani's or Hugo's. Also, A Votre Sante in Brentwood.

The Firehouse in Venice does because of its proximity to Gold's Gym.

was gonna recommend Firehouse too. second Hugo's and A Votre Sante as well.

              also:

              Eat Well in West Hollywood
              Oliver in Beverly Hills
Greenleaf Chop Shop or Salad Bowl Cafe in Beverly Hills for salads with make-your-own
              Newsroom Cafe on Robertson
              Ed's Coffee Shop on Robertson

              ...gonna keep thinking..

The Cabbage Patch on South Beverly Drive offers chicken and salmon bowls you can do without the brown rice. Fresh Corn Grill on west wood blvd serves chicken/Salmon/shrimp with choice of veggie sides as well as "bowls" where you can leave off the rice.

You can do a Persian restaurant. Flame grilled kabobs (chicken, beef, lamb, seafood) and get a salad or extra vegetables instead of the rice.

I like Shamshiri Grill in Westwood, but there's Persian everywhere.

nothing like the Pump, or Energy Kitchen, or Muscle Maker Grill out here...i've never understood why!

*however* a place similar to all the tossed salad places in the city just opened in Brentwood, so you can try that:
                http://www.freshii.com/locations-bren...

i'll also second, third or fourth the suggestions for Hugo's, Fresh Corn Grill, A Votre Sante, Firehouse and Mani's, the Newsroom, EatWell and Oliver.

there's also Basix Cafe in WeHo, and Urth Caffe in WeHo or BH.

i'd skip Veggie Grill if you're a real carnivore - it's totally vegetarian.

we forgot Sauce on Hampton. not really in the initially specified area (it's in Venice), but definitely fits the bill!

Thank you for all the awesome suggestions, unfortunately its still not exactly what i was hoping for.

might just hit a local trader joes and cook in the room for the weekend!

yeah, unfortunately as i said, we don't have anything similar here. fortunately we DO have tons of TJ's & Whole Foods locations, so at least you can stock up and do it yourself :) good luck!

Maybe I'm dumb (or naive, or a bad worker-outer) but why-o-why doesn't Tender Greens work for your post-workout pig-out?

i think the OP was looking for hot plates more than salad. plus, the places he mentioned in NY offer really large servings that are very heavy on the protein..the ones at Tender Greens aren't nearly as substantial.

If you are a member of Costco, get one of their 3lb cooked chickens($4.99+tx) and get some salad fixings and you are set.
Don't forget the grocery store salad bars, especially Gelson's, which for $6.99 per pound, you have protein choices of chicken, tuna, two types of soy as well as hard-boiled eggs, plus of course veggies galore, and you create the combination you want.
Get either vinegar or olive oil as the dressing, not their pre-prepared versions, and you are set.
