Where to dine in Ramona, CA

Any recommendations on where to dine in Ramona on the way to Julian. I have never found much good to eat in Julian besides pie. Don't care for Jeremy's in Wynola. Any suggestions? Thanks

OMG. Pepe's is PEPtacular. Thank you, Beach Chick, for saving my life, yet again. We were cruising through Ramona with hangovers from a friend's birthday overnight in Temecula, and when I searched for a place in Ramona, you and your Pepe's reco popped up. Great tacos: cesina (?) and carnitas; man had lengua. But it was the salsas that cleared my head.

It's a super dive but the tacos are so good and their homemade salsas are super hot and super good.

Have you tried the tacos at Pepe's Produce in the old Pizza Hut on Main...outstanding street tacos and they have a griddle with stools and kick ass salsa too!

I had a neighborhood party in August and they catered it with 2 types of meats (carne asada & chicken) beans, rice, flour/corn tort's along with 3 salsas, chips and chopped onions, cilantro...all for $5 per person..it was HUGE hit.
They also have lingua, cabeza too.

That's a key buy. I take it that did not include anyone to serve.

No service..that is based on 3-4 tacos pp and they provided the large tins and it was 'family style' which worked out great.
With a couple of cases of Pacifico's and you've got yourself one hell of a party..

Now there's a deal $5.00 pp, was this a CH block party? Mail person must have lost my invite, probably Fakey's too...so unreliable these days, and you also had chilled Pacifico's.... man please don't tell us you played the drums or I may spirial in to a deep depression!

I have a policy of not targeting places for nasty grams- it's simply too easy to do, and typically is a function of the writer wishing to boost themselves at the expense of a the business owner.

Who said anything nasty? I read chowhound regularly looking for restaurant recommendations around Julian, and Jeremy's came up quite frequently, I was just trying to save people time in recommending it. I didn't say anything nasty about it, which could THEN, possibly, I guess, maybe, be construed as "boosting myself at the expense of the owner", who I dont know. I just said the restaurant was not my personal preference.

Are you heading up to the grape stomping Festa this Saturday at Menghini Winery?
Couple of great places in the greater Ramona area..
Cheers, for one of the best burgers in town..they just won that title.
Also, I catered a party a couple of weeks and wrote a post about the excellent street tacos in an old Pizza Hut called Pepe's on Main Street.
They have a griddle with stools..it's a produce place with a taco shop inside.
Excellent carne asada, carnitas, cabeza, lingua, and cheese avo for me.
