Does anyone know where I may purchase hanger steak to cook in the Triad?

There are several butcher shops in Winston-Salem. Have you asked them?

I would try whole foods. If they don't have it they are usually pretty good about sourcing it for you. I think their grass fed is local so it may not be hard to get.

Not to hijack this thread but anywhere to buy good (possibly local) cheeses in Winston?

^ About the cheese, you may want to visit the Mostly Local Market in Lewisville. You can also find local cheeses at the Piedmont Triad Farmer's Market.

depends on what you call local. I think whole foods has goat lady which is from climax, nc. also try the farmer market as mentioned by arbyunc. The have hoop cheese(similar to a sharp cheddar) at the winston farmers market
