I think it is time it gets a post of its own. I have never had a bad experience there. I went for lunch and for the first time (thanks to Weight Watchers) I did not have a burger, but a "Skinny Chicken." Whole wheat bun, delicious juicy grilled chicken with tomatoes, red onion, lettuce and BBQ sauce (I subbed this in for the Dijon it comes with). I watched the hubby enjoy his bacon cheeseburgers and the kids eat their chicken, mozz sticks, and fries, and I didn't even mind because the chicken was so good. Every time I go, I am once again reminded that I love it here!

I love Jrs also, but their food is a bit on the expensive side and I find myself going there less and less. I think Jack's has burgers and sandwiches that are nearly as good, plus a whole lot more on the menu, including beers.

Jrs is on Brighton Ave in West End (Long Branch) The food is very tasty "naughty late night snack type food" they are open till 4 am and cater to the college/bar scene in the neighborhood. The only caveat, its very pricey for the small portions and everything is cooked to order, so service can be slow during high volume times.

Yes, sorry Mark, it's on Brighton Ave in West End (Long Branch). I did notice yesterday, joonjoon, that the food has gotten to be quite pricey. I haven't been to Jack's since college! And I usually go to Jr.'s with the kids, so...

Last week at Jr's I had a fantastic Grilled Chicken wrap with their Homemade Basil Pesto sauce YUM !

There is a real divey looking 'diner' of sorts on 537 in/near Freehold. Perhaps that's the spot? Scary looking place!

Your description makes me think of Mary Anne's bar, but that's actually pretty far from Freehold in Colt's Neck (The McMansion types living around that area must seriously wrinkle their nose at the place). :-)

I too have often wondered what Maryanne's is like. Years ago, the night of the OJ car chase as a matter of fact, a mature gentleman told me they make great burgers. I've never gathered up the nerve.

Very close friends of mine lived in Colts Neck when we were all growing up. Maryanne's was where we used to pick up pizza! I can't remember if Orlando's was in the strip mall, then, but it was Maryanne's for us. This was going back 25 years or so.
